About
Trinity United Church minister and Church Board
The Reverend Karen Hammond Croxall
Prior to entering the ministry, Karen worked as a social worker for Durham Children’s Aid and in private practice. As well she was a Director of a workshop program and group home for Christian Horizons York Region. Karen received Chaplaincy training through The University of Toronto and the University Health network. Following her Masters of Pastoral Studies she heard a call to ordained ministry while at Emmanuel College at The University of Toronto.
This call was very evident while helping build a classroom for an orphanage in Uganda with the youth group of Trinity United Church. Ordained in 2015, Karen first served at Fenelon Falls United Church after an internship at Grace United Church, Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Karen began attending Trinity at age 27 many years ago and now serves as their full-time Minister. She loves serving people of all ages, is a supporter of several justice initiatives in the community including helping those experiencing homelessness, and supporting Pride events. Karen also serves Oak Valley Health Uxbridge as volunteer Chaplain and is a Patient Care Partner at their Markham/Stouffville site. She also enjoys her role as Chaplain for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 170. Karen wants you to know that you are loved and welcome to come to Church!

History
Trinity United Church has a long and rich history in Uxbridge. The congregation was founded in 1858 as a Methodist church. The cornerstone of our current church building was laid in 1888. In 1925, we became a member congregation of the United Church of Canada. Trinity has long had a tradition of vibrant worship and commitment to studying and sharing the Word of God. We continue that tradition today in our Sunday morning service as well as in our ministries for children, youth and adults. We are an active congregation, with an average Sunday morning attendance of about 150 people. We are committed to the community of Uxbridge, and we desire to be a blessing in Jesus' name. We count it a privilege to be a United Church congregation serving alongside our sisters and brothers of other Christian denominations. (2018)
